go for #1 definitely. brand-wise it's tied with XFX in quality, so the rebate is the only thing going for it. card-wise, the 8800GT is just better. the 9xxx series cards are really just rebranded 8800GT's. the GT model is so recent, i'm suprised it was still in the 8 series when it came out.

haha, canada eh? j/k. it's nice place. very clean :P

EDIT

no, the 8800 GT is definitely faster than the 9600. just click the link...
9600gts, thats the most powerful or one of them. get it in sli too
what are you going to be doing on the comp?
Before you buy a video card on futureshop you should check out www.tigerdirect.com. I just checked for you and they have 184 PCI-Express video cards ranging from 128 MB to 1GB+. Tigerdirect is a good company and they have pretty good valued and high quality products. Here is a link to their PCI-Express video cards: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/鈥?/a> and you should take a look at the

(1) BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC2 Video Card - 512MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, Video Card for $139.99

or the

(2) EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ Video Card - 512MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, HDMI Support, VGA Support -this video card is $199.99

If you are willing to spend $200 you should really look into the EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ it is a great HD gaming card

Best of luck
