for games/3D graphics, you'll need something thats powerful


like:


a quad core CPU with at least 2.4GHz


at least a 512MB graphics card (recommend NVIDIA for games, ATI for graphics)


at least 1.5GB RAM





for office work


you can get a single or a dual CPU at 2GHz


you can have a 256MB graphics card


you can get away with 256MB on XP, for Vista you need at least 1GB
