The main thing is she needs to eat less calories and exercise more. She should probably stay around 1600-1700 calories per day, depending on her height/weight/age and activity level. Tell her to keep a ';food journal'; and write down everything she eats. She can look up how many calories are in her food by reading the nutrition labels and recording the amount of calories. Also, she can look up the information online on calorie-count.com.
Heres a list of super yummy snacks that are actually pretty low in calories (other than the obvious fruits and vegetables, everyone knows those are low in calories)
rice cakes
pickles
pudding (fat free or even better, sugar free)
jello
popcorn (air popped, or non butter)
skim or 1% milk
low fat cottage cheese
I cant think of anymore right now, but if i do i'll update this answer. Most important is serving size. Ultimately if she wants to lose weight she needs to cut down her ccaloric intake, which means reducing overall volume and substituting high calorie foods with low calorie foods, such as the ones listed above.
Make sure she doesnt starve herself though... the body is a funny machine... when you starve yourself it goes into ';starvation mode'; and makes use of every little calorie you eat. As a result, your body processes calories less efficiently and then, even though you;'re eating less, your body is still maintaining its weight. Just eat a balanced diet of between 1600-1800 calories/day and try and integrate some physical activity. frst of all, she should start eating right, 5 SMALL meals a day like 2 apples at noon, a little cereal in the morning, little soup in day and she should eat food with less calories. she should start excersizing a lot and order seventeen magazines that give the best excersizes to loose weight. im am doin em and gettin really skinnier... when she goes to bed, she should do as much situps as she can, it will make her feel better like shes really doing it. it helped me, im sure itll help her 2
Well, she can start eating rabbit food (aka salad). And skip the dressing. Otherwise, you'll gain weight.
Also, running helps. Running burns more calories than alot of other aerobic activities, and sheds pounds rather quickly. But, you'll need to do it in long sessions, not short bursts, otherwise, nothing is gonna happen. I like running for 4 miles every other day, keeps me fit.
5 small portioned meals a day. Always foods that are low in carbs and fat, and high in protein. Carbs are ok on days that she plans to exercise.
I agree that running is the best way to lose weight fast. Pick a realistic plan that she can stick to, do it each week and as it get's easier, raise the intensity.

Also, i would suggest your friend getting a membership to the gym. If your friend wants to loose weight fast then she needs to include exercise
